LEADERSHIP STYLE AND SCHOOL COUNCIL

Leadership in schools is essential for developing a good future. It is the intentional influence that is made by an individual or by a group over others to structure the activities and relationships in a group or organisation. Interaction between leaders, teachers and situations is the key for a good organisation. Therefore,  we have decided to develop participative leadership between others. In our school many people will have the potential to exercise leadership in any organisation, so we are going to use democratic principles in the decision-making processes, thus increasing the collaboration and the effectiveness in C.E.I.P Mandela.

Other ways of leadership that we will promote in our school are interpersonal leadership and transformational ones.

For us a successful leader is a person who develops a vision based on their personal and professional values but without manipulating the school members, thus acting in a collaborative way.

Regarding the School Council it is the body through which the education community participates in the schools governing which competences are approving and evaluating the school plan between others.

Finally, the School Council meetings will be carried out making possible the attendance of all staff and will be convened by the head teacher Virginia. These will be established once a week.

On the other hand the Teaching Staff has the responsibility of planning, coordinating, informing and, where appropriate, deciding about the school educational matters. It is guided by the head teacher of our school and it would be composed by the school teachers and the head of studies.
